This is important when comparing rentals because some are on the south side of the lake, near Tilaran, and Tronadora which doubles the distance to these must-see locations.

This region is in the highlands of Costa Rica, where the average temperature is just 74 degrees F.  What a wonderful alternative to the high temperature and humidity on the coasts, yet those beaches are but a short drive away.

The region includes tropical rainforests and cloud forests with an incredible variety of plant and animal life.  Lake Arenal is famous for world class windsurfing and excellent fishing for the rainbow bass.  Be sure to take a boat or fishing tour while you visit.  You can also visit Arenal Botanical Gardens to see the wide variety of tropical plant life.  We specialize in finding properties for sale and rent that suit your needs, and we also have set up special rates with many of the tours and attractions, so you can get your tickets ahead of time through us.

Want more?  You are just a couple of hours from the Monteverde Cloud Forest.  Access to Costa Rica's Caribbean and Pacific beaches is easy from our central location. The Pacific beaches of Tamarindo, Flamingo, Coco, and Papagayo are but a two hour drive.  Canopy tours are available, and we are close to some of the most ecologically diverse locales in the world. Cano Negro, ( a birder's paradise), is also about 2 hours away, and is one of the most beautiful, diverse national reserves, in Costa Rica. The new "Hanging Bridges", is less than an hour away, along with the even newer Aerial Tram, next to the  Arenal Volcano. It is a walk through the most beautiful rainforests, on suspended bridges; eyelevel with the volcano.

The majestic and ever-active Arenal Volcano and Tabacon Hot Springs are the number one destinations in Costa Rica and are less than an hour away.  These wonderful hot springs in Costa Rica are fed by the volcano.  Get a relaxing massage in volcanic mud then bathe in the Arenal hot springs, and feel the stress drain from your body and soul.  Enjoy a fabulous lunch or dinner beneath the volcano then hurry home as Costa Rican sunsets should never be missed! 

Most of our vacation rental homes overlook Lake Arenal and are surrounded by forests and gardens.  Relax or explore, the choice is yours.  At day's end, you can just kick back in a hammock and enjoy the sunset over the lake as you watch the monkeys and toucans settling in for the night.
